Jackie McKellar Ajax Class Captain 2024

Firstly thank you to Vice Class Captain Graham Aubrey who has been a massive support this year as we stepped into the breach! He has mastered Sailwave which is a huge relief and shared the load wonderfully. Also thanks to Alister who seems to fill in the gaps we don’t even know about.

As a class, we owe a great deal of thanks to Steph as Rear Commodore of Sailing for her endless support in coordinating the broad team of volunteers in providing RO, support boat drivers, and support boat lenders who make our season's racing possible.

2024 Sailing - There has been a strong core of boats sailing this year. We have missed teams Avocet, Hermione, Teal and Pegasus so very much - hoping to see you next year. This year we say goodbye to team Guillemot after many years in the Ajax class. David. Kelvin and Tim, we are so sorry to see you leaving but thank you for your support and enthusiasm for the Ajax fleet over the years…. With a combined years of experience numbering 236 – no wonder you remain so hard to beat!

We have had some wonderful racing this year across our eventful events calendar, delightful evening racing, serious series racing and finally hosting the Nationals. Last year Richard noted the diversity of winners across the events which has been no less the case this year. That said it has been very tight at the top…….
